Shogun Buffet Hibachi Grill in Asheville

For a buffet and price, I feel l got what I wanted without waiting. Of the area sushi and Chinese buffets l tend to eat at Shogun.

Best chinese food spot I've been to around here! So many different options and choices, even for vegetarians! Enjoy a variety of deserts after your meal, all at a reasonable price!!!!

Not impressed, at all. In their television commercials they make it appear that they have lots of hot bars. They do not ! I walked all over that place and left. To be fair, the atmosphere seemed nice enough. It's not a huge place but, it was pleasant. It just really struck me the wrong way. I was expecting what was depicted in the commercials.Having never tasted the food, I can't tell you if it's good or bad. You need to decide that for yourself.They do have ample parking and it's handicap accessible.

The food is good as always, but a cup to put your leftover drink in should be free not charged...they have to throw it away after a patron leaves abyway

Blah but not bad. If your hungry then you should be ok. I have been spoiled by another buffet lately and thought I would change it up. They have a lot of variety but some of the dishes had ho hum flavor.

I never post reviews but this is one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever gotten food from. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick. We wasted $30 on food that was so bad we couldn’t even eat it. The fountain drinks were flat & they didn’t even add ice.

Not at all like the commercial on TV. The crab legs were so small and overcooked they were not edible. Fried chicken was too dry. Got fresh batch of fried chicken still too dry. Food had no flavor. Now my man on the grill he had it going on. The.man on the grill he knew how to cook the food you give him. Five stars to him!!!!!!!!!!!

Dinner Sunday night...tried a new buffet...hibachi was AMAZING!! Good food need to go back and try other stuff. Loved there chicken on a stick and wings omg yummy. 2 State troopers ate dinner on my tab. Cant thank them enough for everything that they do! Much respect. Employees here are super friendly!

This buffet is delicious and beautiful. Their food is top quality as well as their service. They are a but expensive but amazing.

The food was ok. The hibachi chef will solicit you for a tip instead on letting you decide on your own to tip him or not. Asiana is a much better choice in my opinion.

I love this place. The customer service is a bit of a hit or miss but it's a buffet so I don't really need excellent service. The food is really good. Of course buffet prices in Asheville could be higher but overall the experience is great.

Sushi, hibachi, enormous buffet, clean, and friendly staff. Very affordable compared to other Asheville restaurants. Will find more locals here.

The best Asian buffet in town, hands down! Better than Asiana, no question. Food is of great quality and so fresh! Amazing selection of dishes. Restaurant is clean and well maintained, even the bathrooms are very clean. Service is outstanding! Drinks are constantly refilled, and dirty plates are removed promptly. This was our first time eating here, and now we will never go anywhere else. I 100% recommend this place for a great dining experience!

Wonderful place to have lunch. I am from out of town but will certainly stop by and eat when I am in town. Very good and prices are great.

Great price good food

Very disappointed today. One of my favorite dishes they had, tasted like it was boiled in fish water. The egg rolls were nit all great and the waitress, was eager to get out of there, and forgot to do her job. All i wanted was some more tea, and she abdolutely refused to get me some.

Horrible cold food Terrible customer service. Rude. Will not be coming back. Come here if you want to be disappointed.

Great buffet and habatchi grill and sushi bar been eating there for many years

Always 5 stars. Fresh, skilled preparation, wide selection to choose from, killer Hibachi chef, I'm told the sushi is wonderful, nice salad bar, outstanding soups with seaweed to add, fresh fruits and desserts. Top notch service every single time.

We liked their safety protocol by having each guest wear gloves and self serve. The food was good, but the same problem exist pre-covid. That's shallow pans of food empty much faster, and you find yourself waiting for backups.

First of all they were open before 11 on Monday! There was an impressive variety of very fresh very good looking food. The food I had was so delicious and in my opinion it is way better than Asiana. The staff was very friendly and attentive to all our needs. The cost 8.95 was well worth the lunch buffet. I love the decor and it was very clean. This is my new favorite spot. Glad I went for sure!!!

Great Asian food bar. Counted eleven different serving stations. More food than you could possibly eat. The prepared seafood is A1.

Great buffet with a wide selection of properly prepared options

Say they are concerned about covid. They make everyone wear masks and gloves to the bar. But as I've sat here watching the waitresses have never changed their gloves even after clearing plates from every table they then come and get your glass to take to refill your drink with gloves that have touched other people's plates and cups. They also use their gloved hand to dip new glasses into the ice which contaminates all the ice and everyone in the restaurant. Food is pretty good.

If I could give this place a negative number of stars I would do it. Food is extremely bland. Owner is rude. Charges a 15% gratuity if you have a large table of people sitting with you, even if everyone is paying separately. They say it's the policy, but there is no where in the restaurant posted saying that. Takes forever for the wait staff to refill your drink. For a family of 5 ( 2 kids and 3 adults) the price was $70. I could have gone to stone ridge for that price and had better food with leftovers.

They are practicing social distancing gloves and masks are required everything is fresh and the place is clean I was very happy the egg drop soup was exceptionally good

Only asian buffet I've eaten at in town and not gotten sick.Also have delcious crabmeat casserole and bbq chicken wings on the buffet bar.

The food is buffet style but is attended by staff as customers browse food selections. Food areas are clean and maintained constantly. Food is rotated and fresh. Drinks are also refreshed at tables often. Plates are removed quickly are are not stacked at tables. There is plenty of variety of food to choose from. Staff is pleasant and courteous.

Food was cold that I got. Crab cakes as matter of fact. Told server but.... They still stayed on buffet. Hot crab cakes should be not cold cook through all you cook

Delicious unique buffet items and seems they care about quality. Service was polite and it was fun to overhear them speaking their native tongue to each other. I've had my belly filled all I could eat Asian from LA, Lake Tahoe, Colorado, and but this in AVL is the best forking Asian buffet I've overindulged in.

One of very fine Chinese buffet restaurant.Foods are hot and fresh . Unlike most Chinese buffet restaurants, each dish has own flavor not overly soy source and oyster source base. Highly recommend.

Today just wasn't the day to order take out! Food prepared wasnt fresh and food wasnt flavored.. tasted very bland! Customer service was fair. Host could have been a bit more friendlier but that's my opinion!

I do not understand any of the positive reviews of this place. Under cooked slimy chicken dishes, Spanish rice served as fried rice? Will not return.

They are now doing dine in!!! Shogun buffet has many options of food, whoever comes there will be something in there for everyone! Family friendly and wait staff are amazing!!!

Shogun Buffet has a huge array of different kinds of food. Mostly Oriental, some ties mostly Chinese. Excellently prepared all-you-care-to-eat, for about $10.

SO HAPPY IT'S BACK OPEN!! FOOD WAS AMAZING!! GREAT SERVICE!!

Good food and good staff

It was good until we got to the cheese cake and found a spider on it and then when we showed it to our waiter James he said it was lint off of our clothes. He said to just pick it off and eat around it.
